We were introduced to this restaurant by a good friend. The name of the restaurant do not reflect the Peranakan food that they serve. But boy-oh-boy if you are into Asian Fusion food this is a must try restaurant. The food is authentic and the service staff are friendly. They also serve beers from a local brewery, Brewerkz. On the wine menu they have Pierre Jean Merlot and Chardonnay. I left the ordering to my friends and we just enjoy the food. I'll let the photos do the talking. But be assured that the taste is good and authentic. Their sambal is one of the best I've tasted. Their blue rice is so fragrant and tasty that my son have 2 bowls. A rare occurrence. There are limited street parking just outside the restaurant. And if you are there for dinner you can park at a side street next to the restaurant. If you take the MRT, alight at Tanah Merah station and take bus number 2 and 9. Get off at the third stop and walk a few meters to the restaurant.
Along this row of shophouse lies this bar-like place with a chill-out vibe. It actually belies its real hidden treasure of peranakan food. This place has a cosy atmosphere, friendly service and very good quality peranakan food. The fish maw soup is really awesome from all the spice you've had from peranakan food. The chicken keluat dish serves 2 super large candlenuts which I've never seen had so much blackie meat inside before. It's like mining peranakan black gold! The beef rendang is the highlight of my night here. It's extremely soft tender and the rendang tastes doesn't overpower, which I feel uncomfortable when I've had one. The taste is just right for me. Highly recommend this place! Bonus: NO GST!
